As it happened: It is all a bit of a mess for Milan, but they still hold on to the Champions League spot after a disappointing Champions League quarter-final against Juventus.
After an uninspiring first leg loss to Napoli in the Champions league, it has been decided to give Milan the chance to win the competition, although it will be tricky for them to do so against Juventus, as the Italians are ranked 14th in the world.
“Milan have a fantastic squad,” said Fiorentina coach Antonio Conte.
“We had a great group of players, and now we have to show what we have been capable of this season.
“We are all playing for a trophy.
It is not easy to win a Champions League.
Milan will have to be confident and focused.
I am sure the players are feeling the pressure, but I don’t think that we have a problem.
It will be a tough fight.
Juventus were the first team to beat Milan in the last two seasons, but this season has been even tougher.
In the Champions, Juventus will be fighting to become the first side to beat the Rossoneri since their 1-1 draw with Roma in 2006.
The Bianconeri are currently fourth in the Serie A table, while the Rossos are top of the table, with five games left.
Conte is adamant that his side will not fall short in the upcoming game against Juventus – which will be the first time in the history of the competition that the two clubs meet.
He says that it will “probably be the best game of the season”.
“I have been here many times and always believe that we will go to the top,” said Conte, who was at Juventus from 2001 to 2004.
“The atmosphere here is incredible.
We know Juventus will play the best football.
Their style is always different, but we are always prepared for it.
All the matches are always interesting.
They are very good footballers, but when they play against us it is always difficult.
A win is a win, but a win against a great team like Juventus is important.”
